NHS Dentistry

What is NHS Treatment?

NHS dental treatment is available at Broadway Dental suite to ensure that all those in need can access the treatment they need to protect and care for their teeth.

NHS treatment includes routine check-ups for adults and children as well as any treatment needed for dental problems.

NHS treatment is available for a range of necessary dental treatments, including orthodontic care for children if needed. The provision of NHS dental care makes sure essential treatment is always accessible. While NHS treatment does carry a cost, those most in need should qualify for an exemption

Who is Entitled to NHS Treatment?

NHS dentists provide treatment within a national cost framework that aims to make dental care affordable for all.

Free NHS dental care is available to anyone under the of 18 years old – or aged 19 and in full-time education; pregnant women up to 12 months after the birth of their child, recipients of benefits such as Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance. Some patients will also qualify for help to meet NHS dental costs.

If you believe you are entitled to an NHS exemption or help to pay NHS dental costs you will need to make the dental practice aware of this.

    Questions & Answers

Why have my teeth discoloured? This can be for a number of reasons; from smoking to consuming certain food or drinks or down to age and general wear. We can provide advice to improve your oral hygiene routine and maintain the health of your teeth and gums.

Will teeth whitening be painful? Although some patients report increased sensitivity during treatment, this should pass after a short time. We have selected treatments that will hopefully reduce any uncomfortable sensations and leave you with brighter, whiter teeth. We will also protect your gums from irritation when the whitening treatments are applied to the teeth.

How long does teeth-whitening treatment last? You will need to maintain your new smile with top-up treatments every few months, but these can be carried out at home. As always, we recommend maintaining a positive oral home care routine to keep your teeth and gums as clean and healthy as possible.
